Study visit conducted at the University of Alicante and at the University of Girona

Alicante & Girona, Spain. In the frame of TEMPUS project: “COMPETENCE at the University of Prishtina”, a study visit took place at the University of Alicante and University of Girona, Spain, during September the 12th – 18th . The study visit comprised of a delegation of 18 people, mainly representatives and professors from the University of Prishtina, Ministry of Education,  as well as representatives from WUS Austria.

 

The study visit took place in the context of knowledge transfer to UP COC, University Management and the Competence experts, concerning procedures and work of EU partners in the fields of competence matching/surveys/competence catalogues /cooperation with business environment and policy makers/nation-wide observation, strategy development for qualifications frameworks etc. 

 

The Objectives of the study visit were to gain an overview  of competence based teaching at the University of Alicante (UA)  and University of Girona (UdG) and to get familiar with the UA and UdG models for the management of teaching. Furthermore the study visit helped the Kosovo group to gain new knowledge and practical experiences developing the competence based curriculum. This study visit at the UA and UdG raised awareness among participants in adopting the given advises and new ideas to formulate and implement competences in the teaching at the UP in order to improve the teaching at the UP.

 

The aim of the project is to introduce a competence centre at the UP, which will act as a service centre for students and staff and will with its activities directly contribute to quality assurance and to the development of partnerships with enterprises. The developed competence catalogue and information system will make education at the university more transparent and accessible. It will link the worlds of work and education through Tempus and support the development of life long learning.
